Friday is here again, and not a second too soon. I’ve been dreaming about all of the bacon BBQ stuff I’m going to make this weekend – I should probably pick up some Maple Leaf bacon before I drive home. But before we escape, I should leave you with a sweet taste on your tongue with some Friday Link Love. After the jump, we’ll explore the mouth-watering goodness of everything from an Italian bacon-stuffed mushroom dish, to the insanity of the Bacon Spock Poster.

Stuffed Mushrooms with Smoked Pancetta and Pecorino

It’s just like the Italians to fancy things up with cremini mushrooms stuffed with pancetta (that’s basically Italian bacon), like they do in this recipe. We wouldn’t want to always do something so hoity-toity, but it’s always fun to do it once and awhile. See how the other half lives and all that. You know, before returning to our regular bacon cheeseburger-scarfing ways.

Bacon and Spock

For endless generations, man has struggled to understand the profound mysteries of bacon. Why is it so perfect? What does its perfection mean for us mere mortals? How can we all achieve the perfection of bacon? While lesser men might have given up on discovering the answer to these questions – or never even attempted them – Spock has never backed down from a challenge. One day, perhaps, that great Vulcan brain will finally find the key.

Make It Bacon

There’s a new demotivational poster on the block. This one points out the obvious fact that if you are making something, and you want to sell it – make it more bacony! You’d think they’d be teaching this in all those new-fangled MBA programs by now. But I guess some people haven’t got the memo yet!

Big Fat Bacon Sliders

The Pioneer Woman offers us a great recipe for bacon sliders – basically little bacon-wrapped hamburgers. The photos are literally insane – I want to paw my screen as a I scroll through the dozens of luscious close-ups that the site offers. If your goal was to get me instantly craving a food I now need to go out and make, mission accomplished, Pioneer Woman. The full recipe is here. In the interests of full disclosure, I must warn you: you may start crying when you see her brushing BBQ sauce on them.

Bacon and Blue Cheese Dip

OUT OF MY WAY! I NEED AN IV OF BACON AND BLUE CHEESE IN THIS MAN’S STOMACH, STAT! DON’T WORRY ABOUT THE CORN CHIPS – THE BACON AND BLUE CHEESE IS CRITICAL TO THIS MAN’S CONTINUED EXISTENCE AS A HAPPY HUMAN BEING!
