Some days my buddies come around for the football games. Obviously pizza is easy and we order that. What do I serve in the meantime? They are all picky and whiney (we have those friends!!), so I know we need a meat dish BUT with a twist. Salsa is both great and easy… mix it with bacon and it MORPHS into this incredibly exciting party in your mouth!!
Ingredients:
• 1 tomato
• ¼ of an onion
• 1 shallot
• ¼ tsp of parsley
• ¼ tsp. Oregano
• 1 clove of garlic
• 1 stick of celery
• Lemon juice(½ of a lemon))
• Lime juice( ½ of a lime)
• ½ tsp. Chili powder
• ½ tsp basil
• ½ tsp. Onion powder
Directions:
1. Cook 3 pieces of bacon until crispy
2. Roughly chop tomatoes, celery, bacon, parsley, oregano, onions, shallot, and combine in a bowl until well mixed(Sample but do not indulge too much!! Wait for the final touches..it is so worth it!!)
3. Add chili powder, basil and onion powder until well blended
4. Lastly add in juice of ½ lemon and ½ lime
5. Blend in blender until smooth. But be careful you don’t leave it in too long, it might make it watery. Enjoy and watch as your friends are both shocked and delighted
