In many ways, bacon is generally considered to be the exact opposite of a vegetable. Not only is bacon a type of meat, but it is a particularly salty, fatty and delicious cut of meat. It is also a cured meat, which adds to both the flavour and texture of bacon. It’s not just it’s meatiness, but it’s indulgent qualities that make bacon seem to be the absolute antithesis of a vegetable.

However, bacon and veggies actually get along far better than one would expect! A loyal bacon fan need not pick one or the other to be truly happy. In fact, when the salt and crunch of bacon is contrasted against the freshness and clean taste of a veggie, the results are often delicious!
