A couple weeks ago, I posted a potato and leek soup. It was so delicious that I had to find a way to introduce bacon and potatoes into a soup again. Then I remembered about cream of potato soup – a classic. I figured I’d baconize it and make it awesome… like I always do, right? I wanted to introduce a little more flavour into the potatoes than just simply boiling them, or simmering them in stock. I decided I would make some homefries first then purée them into a soup. Sounds delicious, you say? Well, you’re right. It is. Let’s do this.

Brussels sprouts: the epitome of vegetables that kids push off to the side of their plate or attempt to feed to the dog … but the dog won’t eat it either. So what do we do? Do we force kids to eat these pitiful tasting vegetables? No. Absolutely not. We shouldn’t need to force kids to eat anything. So what do we do? We make them taste delicious and have them crave more. And how do we do that? We add bacon of course.

There’s no need to get complicated here. Just a few ingredients to create a nice fresh dish!

I have always been a bit of a self-admitted pizza snob. I truly believe that less is more. I believe it not about how many toppings you can put on a pizza, but the quality you put in to the pizza. My perfect pizza would be a thin and uber crispy base coated in a fresh-from-the-garden tomato sauce, quality fresh mozzarella and lots of basil. That’s it! You need to let the ingredients shine, not hide them with sub-par toppings. I cringe when I see pizza slices that flop over because of the mountain of garbage atop their flimsy, undercooked crust, ketchup-like sauce and overload of low quality cheese. It has been my goal in the past couple of weeks to perfect a pizza recipe that would leave me satisfied.

To be honest, I’m not quite there… yet! I’m close, though. So I’m presenting you with the guidelines from which I’ve been working. Feel free to get creative. Just remember, keep it simple and use quality ingredients.

How many times have you thought, “this pork could use more pork.”? Well, it happens frequently with me as you could probably imagine. I had these gorgeous pork tenderloins in my fridge that I needed to cook. I was torn on how to prepare them until it hit me. I shook my head at how dumb I was for not realizing it to begin with. Nothing goes better with pork than pork. Tenderloin and bacon – hand in hand like sisters skipping down the street. What a delicious pair.

Bacon Dipping Recipes for Hosting Parties

The holidays are well over by now but that doesn’t mean you won’t be hosting any amazing parties. My friend hosted a party last week and asked that I help by bringing some ‘dipping food’. I searched through all of our amazing bacon recipes but only found one long shot dipping recipe, the hush puppies recipe. It really isn’t considered a ‘Dipping Food’, that is why I decided to bring some simple hummus but the whole ordeal frustrated me. That is why I decided to search the web for the best Bacon Dipping Recipes

But what happens when you’re throwing your fifth party in a week? After you’ve served bacon hors d’oeuvres, wrapped many a main course in bacon, and even broken out the bacon desserts and bacon cocktails, what else is there to do? Fear not! We at the Republic of Bacon are a never-ending source of bacon inspiration, and once again we have some great social eating suggestions.
